Governance Arm Roadmap
- Participate in selected protocols: Currently, we are actively participating in the governance of Aave, dYdX, Arbitrum, and onboarding Starknet. We will continue to gain experience and build our reputation in these protocols before expanding to others. (Completed)
- Apply for a16z delegation program and seek delegation from protocol teams: With a strong team and good reputation, we aim to apply for the a16z delegation program to receive a sizable voting power that makes our voice heard. Additionally, we will also request protocol teams to delegate voting power to us, further enhancing our governance impact. (Present stage)
- Leverage governance participation for mutual benefits: As BBS does not have membership fees, we need a source of support to sustain the society's activities. By actively participating in governance, we can establish mutually beneficial relationships with various protocols. This will provide BBS with access to a wealth of knowledge, as each protocol has its own expertise based on their field. This knowledge can be used to educate our members, enhancing their understanding of different aspects of blockchain technology. Additionally, our involvement in governance will create valuable connections within the blockchain ecosystem, which can lead to further opportunities for collaboration and growth. (Ongoing)
- Create a positive feedback loop for the society: The funds, knowledge, and connections obtained from governance participation will further support our long-term goal of promoting blockchain at the University of Bristol. These resources will benefit the BBS as a whole, with funds being allocated between the governance and education arms as needed, and the knowledge and connections fostering collaboration and growth. This positive loop will continue to drive the society's growth and impact in the blockchain space.
